Simon’s friendly, professional approach and his enthusiasm for the subjects he teaches makes him an excellent trainer. He is passionate about health and safety and turns what could be a very boring subject, into a very entertaining and fun experience!
He is proud to have won the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Best Health and Safety Trainer Award for 2009 and Best Food Safety Trainer Award for 2010. Both he and Sue have enjoyed two visits to the Houses of Parliament where they received the awards for CIEH Best Training Centre for 2009 and 2010.
After leaving school, Simon started his career in Hotel Management. He spent four years learning the business at many first class properties around the country.
Simon has had a number of interesting jobs including being a Night Manager for a large contract cleaning company in London and a two year stint as Facilities Manager at a new hospital for the Saudi police force in Saudi Arabia.
On returning to the UK, Simon went into retail, working as the Area Manager of a coffee shop chain of 12 restaurants, before working for the Co-operative Retail Services, looking after their in-store restaurants.
In 1996, after being made redundant, Simon decided to start his own business and Envesca was created, although at this time it was called SE Food & Hygiene Services. Simon’s wife, Sue joined the company in 1999 and helped develop the business to where it is today.
Today, Simon enjoys running a large number of both Food Safety and Health and Safety courses as well as providing a consultancy service to many of our regular customers.
When he is not at work, Simon enjoys walking Trudi the Dog, trying new local restaurants and relaxing on holiday in interesting places. Although born in Singapore, Simon was brought up in Sheffield, which is where his love for Sheffield United Football Club comes from!
