Martyn was a police officer before he retired after serving thirty years.  During the latter part of his service, his specialist area was on the more extreme end of conflict management, both in the training environment and operationally.

Apart from being a Trainer for Envesca, he works part time as a Registrar of births deaths and marriages.  He is also an assessor of police officers and support staff, for management qualifications at level 3 and level 5, on behalf of the Chartered Management Institute.

Any spare time is spent enjoying family life, gardening and long walks in the countryside.
