Health and Safety Training Courses
Prevent Accidents. Reduce Costs. Avoid Prosecution.
Unlimited fines and a severe prison sentence – is it worth the risk?
Every year the health and safety regulations become more complex. You must keep up to date and comply with the latest legislation. The costs of accidents and ill-health in the workplace can significantly affect your business. Effective health and safety management in your business is the key to eliminating or reducing workplace hazards. Having a well-managed health and safety system in place will ensure staff, visitors and contractors are protected.
The law holds the business owner responsible
You are ultimately responsible for health and safety in all aspects of the business. You have a “duty of care” to look after your employees’ health, safety, and welfare while they are at work. You must ensure that your business can access suitable competent health and safety advice. Failure to comply with the health and safety regulations can carry heavy penalties in way of fines, poor staff morale, loss of business, a bad reputation and possibly even imprisonment.
What this means to you
You must effectively manage the health and safety risks within your workplace. To do this, you need to think about what might cause harm to anyone who comes into contact with your business. You then must assess whether you are doing enough to prevent them from that harm. This process is known as a risk assessment. Once you have identified the risks, you need to implement control measures which will include policies, procedures, safe systems of work, information, instruction and training to name but a few.
Accredited Training
Most of our health and safety training courses are accredited by either Highfield Qualifications, one of the UK’s leading Awarding Organisations or the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) the world’s Chartered body for safety and health professionals.
This means that candidates undertake an invigilated examination at the end of a training course, and successful candidates will achieve a recognised qualification. There are lots of benefits of accredited health and safety training; these include:
- Accredited training boosts staff retention by satisfying employee ambitions and goals.
- Provides regulatory bodies, such as Environmental Health and the Health and Safety Executive, confidence in your business operation.
- Training your team to set standards helps improve your company’s performance.
- Highly trained, knowledgeable, and skilled staff leads to higher levels of customer satisfaction.
