Equity - Case Study

Since its inception 83 years ago, Equity has developed into an organisation known for its specialist provision of adventures for students and young people to locations across Europe.

Richard Amico-Jones, the Health and Safety Advisor at Equity, noted that the most necessary training for the operation of the organisation in its five full board Club Hotels across Europe was the requirement to ensure that all chefs and kitchen staff were confident in their roles and had received Food Safety training.  The fact that these hotels are located in various locations had posed an issue for Equity in that remote access, and the provision of training overseas can be difficult to coordinate logistically.

Over a two-year partnership, colleagues at Equity have undertaken dozens of e-learning courses in food safety, fire safety, first aid and health and safety training. Richard shares that these courses have saved time and money for the organisation. In terms of results, Richard noted that the training has fostered a culture that is ‘positive, professional and knowledgeable in the area of health and safety, with feedback from training participants being purely positive.

While the ability to deliver high-quality training was, of course, a determining factor in why Equity chose Envesca for their needs, Richard’s other primary criteria included ‘personal and honest customer service, reliability, practicality, affordability and a user-friendly system’.
