Did a HACCP course with Envesca. It was run well with lots of information given prior to the course starting. The day was well run with instructors who were obviously very good at what they were teaching - both in the knowledge they had and how to implement this in the work place.

I have used Envesca now on several occasions, not only for myself, but for other staff within the organisation and have always enjoyed the courses. Have had both classroom delivery and remote (which is not the easiest to deliver) and actually found the interactions better on the remote delivery, possibly due to slightly larger groups.

Attended a Level 4 Food Safety Refresher workshop recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Completed this via Zoom technology which was different for me but the course was well planned. Interaction between the delegates was excellent and we were even able to break off into groups to complete tasks. Lots of information provided as part of the package, still reading it all! Thank you Sue & Simon for an excellent day!

I attended an Advanced Food Safety Refresher; the course was very enjoyable, and was particularly helpful with the trainers knowledge. The booking and pre course information is very efficient and helpful.

Why Choose In-House Training?

Training at your own premises means less travelling, less time away from the workplace and an opportunity to train your people together.

It also makes the learning more relevant. Your employees can ask questions about the situations they deal with every day, and our trainers can use examples that relate to your workplace, industry and the way your business operates.

For larger groups, in-house training can also be more cost-effective than booking individual places on public courses, particularly when you take travel time and expenses into account.

Training That Works Around Your Business

We know organising training is not always as simple as finding a free day in everyone’s diary.

That is why we will work with you to find dates, start times and finish times that fit as comfortably as possible around your operation. This can be particularly helpful if you are working around shifts, busy service periods or different departments.

For accredited qualifications, there are some requirements we cannot change. The required guided learning hours, course content and assessment requirements must still be met, so we will explain what flexibility is available before you book.

With non-accredited training, we can usually be much more flexible. Depending on the subjects and duration, we can arrange several shorter training sessions during the same day, for example Manual Handling, COSHH and Health and Safety, or repeat the same session so employees on different shifts can attend.

The aim is simple. We give your people the training they need while causing as little disruption to your business as possible.

Virtual In-House Training

If your employees are based at different sites, working remotely or spread across the UK, bringing everyone together for classroom training is not always practical.

Our virtual in-house training gives you another option. A live Envesca trainer delivers the course online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, exclusively for your organisation. Your employees can join from different offices, sites or home locations while still learning together as one group.

Unlike eLearning, this is live, trainer-led training. Learners can ask questions, join discussions and talk through situations from their own workplace, giving them much of the interaction of a classroom course without everyone needing to travel to the same location.

Virtual training can also help you reduce travel time and costs, particularly when employees are based across several sites. There are no trainer mileage or accommodation costs to consider, and course materials can be provided electronically where appropriate.

Can Employees Still Gain an Accredited Qualification Virtually?

For many Highfield accredited qualifications, yes.

Where the qualification is suitable for online assessment, candidates can take their examination remotely using Highfield’s Qualify at Home service. Highfield combines online assessment with remote invigilation so learners can complete an eligible examination from their own home or workplace rather than travelling to an examination venue.

During a remotely invigilated examination, the candidate uses their computer, webcam and internet connection and is monitored to make sure the required examination conditions are maintained. Highfield also requires candidates to verify their identity as part of the process.

There is an additional cost for the remote invigilation service, and we will build this into your bespoke proposal so there are no hidden surprises.

Please note that not every qualification can be assessed this way.

Some qualifications include practical assessments or other requirements that mean a different assessment arrangement is needed. We will check this for you before you book and explain exactly what your learners will need.

Not sure whether your course can be delivered and assessed virtually? Just ask us. We will talk you through the options and help you choose the simplest arrangement for your team.

Accredited or Non-Accredited Training?

Not every training need requires a formal qualification.

If your employees need a recognised qualification, we offer a range of accredited courses from organisations such as Highfield Qualifications and Qualsafe Awards, as well as IOSH training.

Where accreditation is not necessary, a non-accredited in-house course may be a more practical option. We can focus the training around the subjects your employees need, your workplace risks and the time you have available.

Non-accredited training is usually more cost effective, as there are no awarding body costs.

We will talk through what you are trying to achieve and help you choose the most appropriate option, rather than recommending more training than you actually need.

Training That Fits the Way You Work

One of the biggest advantages of in-house training is being able to make the learning feel relevant to the people in the room.

For non-accredited training, we can tailor the content around your business and, where appropriate, combine different subjects into one programme.

With accredited training, we must deliver the syllabus and learning outcomes specified by the awarding body, but our trainers can still use relevant workplace examples and discussions to help learners understand how the subject applies to their everyday roles.

That could mean discussing your own procedures, typical workplace hazards or situations your team regularly encounters.

It helps move the training away from something people have to attend and towards something they can actually use when they return to work.

Not Sure What Training Your Team Needs?

You don’t need to arrive with a course title or qualification level already worked out.

Tell us who you need to train, what they do, how many people there are and what you’re trying to achieve. We’ll help you understand the options and recommend a practical way to get everyone trained.

Whether that’s one accredited qualification, several shorter non-accredited sessions or a programme delivered across different dates, we’ll help make the whole process straightforward and easy to organise.

Supporting Different Learning Needs

Everyone should have a fair opportunity to get the most from their training.

If someone attending has dyslexia, a disability, an additional learning need, difficulty with literacy or another requirement that may affect their learning or assessment, please tell us before the course. We will talk through their needs and explain what support or reasonable adjustments may be available.

For accredited qualifications, reasonable adjustments must follow the relevant awarding body’s requirements and cannot change the standard that the learner is required to achieve. Highfield, for example, has a formal Reasonable Adjustments Policy covering learners who may otherwise be disadvantaged during an examination or assessment.

If English is not a learner’s first language, it is also helpful to let us know in advance. We can talk through the course and assessment requirements with you and discuss what support may be appropriate.

The HSE advises employers to make sure health and safety information and training is easy to understand, and to consider issues such as language, literacy and learning disabilities when planning how information is provided.

The important thing is to talk to us before the training. That gives us time to understand what your learner needs and check what arrangements are possible.

What You Get From Training In-House

A green outline of a piggy bank with a coin being inserted on its back, subtly symbolizing the value of onsite safety training, set against a white circular background.

Training Cost Savings

When training a larger group of people, the cost per candidate is typically less when compared to the same group attending one of our public training courses. We recommend that our customers opt for onsite training if they have more than six people to train, as this is often the breakeven point.

Tailored & Bespoke

Non-accredited courses can be created to meet your needs and requirements. This can include combining different subjects, for example, manual handling with working at heights or food safety with allergen awareness, providing a training package specific to your employees and your business.

Convenient & Flexible

Organising training for a group with their own timetables and responsibilities can be challenging. In-house training makes working around people’s schedules easier. Training can be arranged out of regular working hours, e.g. a one-day course can be run over two evenings or even at a weekend.

Team Building

Having a room full of your employees from different departments encourages excellent teamwork. This often sees fantastic results as ideas are “bounced off” each other. This also often increases awareness and understanding of each other’s job roles. A considerable advantage to in-house training.

More Focused

In-house training allows courses to focus more on policies, procedures and skills specific to your business. It also allows candidates to ask questions and raise any particular issues they may have. Using real-life examples helps candidates to understand and retain the course content.

Post-Training Support

Our advice and guidance does not stop when the training finishes. Your employees will also benefit from online post-training support. As they start to implement what they have learnt, they may have questions they would like to ask. Our online post-course support will help them get these questions answered.

In-House Training Questions, Answered

If your question is not here, call us on 01452 502113 and we will answer it properly rather than send you a brochure.

How many people do we need before in-house training is worth it?

Yes. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, employers have a legal duty to ensure employees receive adequate fire safety information and training. Training should be provided when employees start work, whenever new risks are introduced, and refreshed periodically to ensure everyone knows how to prevent fires, raise the alarm, evacuate safely and respond appropriately in an emergency.

Providing suitable fire safety training not only helps you comply with the law but also protects your employees, visitors, customers and business premises. At Envesca, we deliver practical fire safety training that helps businesses meet their legal responsibilities with confidence.

For many Highfield accredited qualifications, yes. Where a qualification is suitable for online assessment, learners can sit the examination remotely using Highfield’s Qualify at Home service, with remote invigilation making sure examination conditions are maintained.

Not every qualification can be assessed this way. Some include practical assessments that need a different arrangement. We will check before you book and explain exactly what your learners will need.

Usually, yes. We will work with you on dates, start times and finish times that fit around your operation, which helps if you are juggling shifts, busy service periods or different departments.

A one-day course can sometimes be split across two evenings, or the same session repeated so employees on different shifts can attend. With accredited qualifications the guided learning hours and assessment requirements still have to be met, so we will explain what flexibility is available before you book.

With non-accredited training, often yes. Depending on the subjects and how long each one needs, we can run several shorter sessions in the same day, for example manual handling alongside COSHH, or food safety alongside allergen awareness.

Accredited qualifications have a set syllabus and a minimum amount of learning time, so those cannot be compressed or combined in the same way.
