Why’s It Important?
Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, it is your employer’s responsibility to ensure that all employees are aware of the importance of health and safety. Employees should also know what their duties are and the risks they may face in their job roles.
Everyone in the workplace, no matter what industry, is required to undertake sufficient and appropriate health and safety training. This training should form part of your induction process.
As an employer, you need to prevent the risk of work-related illness and injury. You have a legal responsibility to provide a safe workplace. If you get health and safety wrong, it can cost you and your business in so many ways.
