What’s It About?
This IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course is a practical one-day course for people who have already completed the full IOSH Managing Safely Course and want to refresh their knowledge and confidence.
You’ll revisit the key principles of managing health and safety using the Plan-Do-Check-Act approach, with a strong focus on leadership, risk assessment, communication and reviewing performance.
The course also gives you the chance to reflect on what you already know, apply it to practical workplace situations and think about how you can use that refreshed knowledge back in your own organisation.
The focus is on the Plan-Do-Check-Act Health and Safety Management System and aims to provide support to managers dealing with everyday health and safety issues.
It is recommended that this IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course is taken after 3 years of completing the original 3-day course.

How Long Is The Qualification Valid?
The IOSH Managing Safely Refresher certificate does not have a set expiry date.
However, health and safety requirements, workplace practices and your responsibilities can change over time, so it’s important to keep your knowledge and confidence up to date.
We’d recommend refreshing your training whenever there are significant changes in your role or workplace, or simply when you feel it would be useful to revisit the key principles and make sure your knowledge is still current.
How You'll Be Assessed And Certified
The IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course is assessed at the end of the day with a 30-minute examination containing 21 questions. You’ll need to achieve at least 20 out of 32 marks to pass.
Once you’ve successfully completed the assessment, you’ll receive an IOSH Managing Safely Refresher certificate, which we’ll send by post to the person who originally booked the training as soon as we receive it from IOSH.
