Highfield Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing
What’s It About?
This Level 1 Food Safety in Manufacturing course introduces employees to good food hygiene practices within a food manufacturing setting. It will give them a basic understanding of food safety so that they can work safely.
The course covers the importance of good personal hygiene and the essential elements of cleaning. It also gives them an awareness of cross-contamination and how to prevent it.
Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for employees who don’t handle food such as stock room staff, maintenance engineers and delivery personnel.
However, this course is not suitable for anyone who prepares or cooks food. The Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing qualification is more appropriate.
Why’s It Important?
You have a legal obligation to comply with the stringent rules of the Food Safety Act 1990 and its associated Food Hygiene Regulations; it is these systems that are fundamental to a “due diligence” defence.
If your staff work within a food manufacturing environment, you have to ensure they receive food safety training appropriate to their job role.
Therefore, failing to comply with these regulations carries heavy penalties in the way of fines, poor staff morale, loss of business, a bad reputation and possibly even imprisonment.
What Will You Gain?
By attending this Level 1 Food Safety in Manufacturing course, your employees will understand the basic requirements of food safety and hygiene within a food manufacturing environment.
In addition, they will know how to keep themselves and their work areas clean and hygienic. They will understand the role they play in reducing cross-contamination within their working environment.
On returning to the workplace, your employees will know how to identify and report key food safety issues.
