How Long Does The IOSH Course Take?

Ensuring your workplace is up to date in terms of health and safety is important for everyone that works there, from entry-level employees to upper management. A good understanding of health and safety practices in the workplace can prevent accidents, ensure full compliance with the law and save lives.

There are lots of ways that you can improve your understanding of workplace health and safety, but one of the most popular approaches is to obtain accreditation through a recognised training programme. The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) provides a range of training courses and programmes that is suitable for all levels of staff.

In this article, we are going to find out how long the IOSH Managing Safely qualification will take to complete and touch on a few important points about the programme.

How Long Is The IOSH Managing Safely Course?

IOSH provides a health and safety course called Managing Safely, which is designed with line managers in mind. It is a tried, tested and approved programme that is highly regarded and recognised for its quality. It is geared towards providing managers with the tools, confidence and passion to apply health and safety knowledge in the workplace.

As a course, it is available online or through in-class learning, which does affect the period of time it takes to complete. It is an excellent programme for those looking for flexibility in how they learn, though.

When completed online via eLearning, the Managing Safely programme can be completed with 8 to 12 hours of online self-study. In a classroom or virtual classroom, the Managing Safely programme takes 3 days to complete.
